Join us on the Rainier Trail on May 17 from 10am-2pm, to explore the human form and some of Issaquah’s public art treasures in supportive and fun sketching workshop!
With a focus on figurative approaches, this workshop is all about lifelike shape and movement. The models, however, will stay perfectly still!
We will meet on the Rainier Trail just south of Sunset Way, in the green park space.
This class is part of Viewfinder, a four-week outdoor workshop series that invites participants to explore shape, perspective, and imagination across four distinct landscapes. Each session focuses on a different visual theme, guiding artists of all levels to sharpen their observational skills and creative expression.

May 3 - Confluence Park
May 17 - Rainier Trail (south of E. Sunset Way)
May 31 - Issaquah Salmon Hatchery
June 7 - Pedestrian Park
Each day we will meet at 10am, with active instruction until 12pm and students are welcome to stay until 2pm to continue their work more informally.
Students need to bring their own seating and supplies (sketchbook or paper, pens, watercolors, etc.). Please dress for the weather!
Happy Time will provide viewfinders and bulldog clips (in case of wind).
Taught by local artist Blayne Fox, this workshop is open to adults of any skill level. All fees are nonrefundable.
