Join us at Pedestrian Park on June 7 from 10am-2pm, to focus on drawing perspective in this supportive and fun sketching workshop at Issaquah’s newest downtown hangout spot!
At the center of town (Sunset & Front St), we will work at drawing fascinating perspectives encompassing both the diagonal angles of Front Street buildings and on the flowing, rounded curves of the water fountain and artwork showcased at the new park.
This class is part of Viewfinder, a four-week outdoor workshop series that invites participants to explore shape, perspective, and imagination across four distinct landscapes. Each session focuses on a different visual theme, guiding artists of all levels to sharpen their observational skills and creative expression.
The full series is:
May 3 - Confluence Park
May 17 - Rainier Trail (south of E. Sunset Way)
May 31 - Issaquah Salmon Hatchery
June 7 - Pedestrian Park
Each day we will meet at 10am, with active instruction until 12pm and students are welcome to stay until 2pm to continue their work more informally.
Students need to bring their own seating and supplies (sketchbook or paper, pens, watercolors, etc.). Please dress for the weather!
Happy Time will provide viewfinders and bulldog clips (in case of wind).
Taught by local artist Blayne Fox, this workshop is open to adults of any skill level. All fees are nonrefundable.
Tip: For 20% off your class fee, become a paid subscriber to the Open Studio Newsletter, a singular arts resource for the King County region. An annual subscription comes with 20% off discount you can use three times in one year.
