2024 Summer Camp Information

Is your child into Taylor Swift? The Beatles? Are they endlessly drawing, painting, or building things out of cardboard boxes?

As with our year-round workshops, summer camps at Happy Time focus on helping campers gain new artistic skills, form new relationships rooted in shared interests, and learn the benefits of a daily practice routine.

Each session is two weeks long, and each session has a half day morning music camp, and a half day afternoon visual art camp. Kids can sign up for a half day or a whole day experience, depending on how much creative immersion they’re looking for!

There is a 90 minute break over lunchtime, and we can provide supervised care during that time for $20/day, including trips to the nearby park when weather permits. We hope this is every day, but we cannot guarantee it.

2024 summer camps are for kids ages 8-12, but teens are welcome, and if interest is mainly in the teen age group, we can shift in that direction. So, if you have a teen that would be interested, please reach out - the earlier we know, the better we can try to accommodate!

Frequently Asked Questions

What camps do you offer? In 2024 we will offer music and visual art camps for at least ages 8-12!

Why are sessions two weeks long? We believe this amount of time is necessary to generate meaningful relationship building opportunities as well as meaningful creative and artistic skills.

Does my child need to know how to play guitar in order to join a songwriting camp? It is always better for a songwriting camper to have a musical foundation and yes, it’s also easier when they know how to play a few guitar chords and are comfortable playing for 5-10 minutes at a time already. If your child does not have this level of experience, they can still join in and learn as a beginner! Our camps are very small, more like semi-private lessons, in order to preserve the ability to customize for each person in the room.

Does my child need to be experienced at drawing and painting to join a printmaking camp? This camp is a good fit for artists of all levels and experience. It will offer a variety of ways to approach visual art - those who love to draw and paint will find plenty of new approaches, and those who prefer to build, cut, and sculpt will also be able to focus on those aspects.

Do you have guitar and songwriting camps for high schoolers? Please reach out if you are interested in signing up a high schooler - we will make every effort to arrange that upon request!

How do I sign up? Please use our contact form and we will respond quickly with updates on available spots and any other answers to questions you may have.

Each camp has spots for six students at a time, and they are first come, first served. We look forward to hearing from you!
