Webcomics 2 (Nov 22)

Webcomics from Process to Publication!

Take your story from idea to screen in this two-part workshop series all about creating and publishing your own webcomic. Learn how to plan and write for the web, design for digital formats, and avoid common pitfalls in the creative process. Then, explore how to share your work with the world—whether through online platforms, crowdfunding, or traditional publishing. Perfect for artists and storytellers looking to bring their comics to life and find their audience.

Webcomics 1: Techniques & Practice
Ready to share your story with the world? This class focuses on publishing strategies for webcomic creators. We’ll look at how popular webcomics found success across different formats, weigh the benefits of online platforms versus self-hosting, and discuss long-term management of a limited versus an ongoing series. You’ll also learn about crowdfunding, how to attract (or approach) publishers, and how to protect and own your creative work in a tumultuous age of social media.

Taught by local artist and professional illustrator Blayne Fox, this workshop meets from 1:00-3:00pm on November 22, and is open to teens and adults of all experience levels. Please bring a sketchbook and your preferred drawing materials.

All fees are nonrefundable.

Sign up for Webcomics 1 here if you would also like to learn about techniques and practice!
