Acrylic Painting: Working with Value (April 4)

Join us for a workshop introducing one of the foundations of painting and many other types of art: value.

Value is the range of light and dark that gives a painting its sense of form, depth, and mood. Through simple exercises and guided practice, you’ll learn how to see and mix light, mid‑tone, and dark values using acrylic paint. We’ll explore how value creates contrast, focus, and structure, even before color comes into play. No prior painting experience required—just curiosity and a willingness to experiment.

Taught by local painter and printmaker William Cook, this workshop meets from 3:00pm - 6:00pm on April 4, and is open to adults of any skill level. No experience is necessary. All materials provided by Happy Time.
