Intro to Bookmaking for Adults (Sept 14)

Get creative and learn the basics of bookmaking in this fun, hands-on class. You will design and build your very own handmade book from start to finish—no experience needed!

We will start off going over the essential tools, materials, and a simple binding technique. Then you’ll dive into decorating your canvas book cover using paint, markers, stamps, and stencils—anything that inspires you. Next, you will choose from a selection of papers to create the inside pages. You will fold them into sections (called signatures), then hand-stitch everything together into the cover you made.

By the end of the class, you’ll walk away with a unique, handmade book and a new set of creative skills.

Taught by Nikki Mason, the workshop meets from 1:00-3:30pm on September 14, and is open to adults only. No experience is necessary. All materials provided by Happy Time.
