Kelly Hyde

Name some artists that have influenced you: Paul Simon,Yebba, Heather Maloney, Kacey Musgraves

Share an artistic accomplishment you are proud of: Since releasing my first full-length album with Grammy-award winning producer Charles Brotman in 2018, I placed 3rd in the Hawaii Songwriting Competition, and released 4 singles. My original song "Little Lucky" caught the ear of Australia's Bobby Alu and we released a featured version together in 2021. Shortly after, Putumayo World Music added the song to multiple playlists.  I was also honored to collaborate with the one and only "Bluegrass Boy" Peter Rowan on a cover of John Anderson's song "Seminole Wind."

Why do you teach art? I teach because I have a passion for intuitive and authentic expression, and believe in the value in which it brings. I'm a fun hype girl with the kids and love to  level with the weird, funny, powerful, and vulnerable spaces that vocalizing can bring up. When kids can learn to confidently channel creativity, it provides us all with a more loving and enriched world.
